Salary: £32,010 - £37,626

Hours: 36 per week, 52 weeks

Edinburgh Justice Services are committed to providing high quality services and ensuring a compassionate approach to people who use our services, and to supporting staff wellbeing. We offer a high level of training to support continuous professional development and to deliver a broad range of interventions. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Justice Worker with a particular interest in Trauma Informed practice, Early Intervention and Groupwork to join the Justice Pathways Service (JPS) for men. JPS delivers a range of Justice interventions such as Diversion from Prosecution, Bail Supervision, Structured Deferred Sentences and Community Payback Orders. The overall remit of the team is to deliver a service that is responsive to the risks and needs of men affected by complex trauma.

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Managing people subject to Supervised Bail
  • Preparing progress reports for Court
  • Co-facilitating Groupwork programmes
  • Supporting individuals subject to statutory orders

Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be willing to work in a dynamic environment and to contribute to an inclusive culture that values and respects diversity and lived experience. HNC in Social Care plus extensive experience in a care or Justice setting is required.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
