Housing and Homelessness Service Housing Assistant - System Wide Approach to Prevention (SWAP) - fixed term until 31/12/2026 Westerhailes

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Housing Assistants to join the Homelessness Prevention and Housing Options Team (HP&HOT). These positions are going to be based in the new project System Wide Approach to Prevention (SWAP). This is an exciting new pilot project which seeks to take a 'test and learn' approach to the way we approach homelessness prevention. It will involve an innovative approach to the way we work with partner agencies in respect of prevention.
You will have significant experience of working in an administrative role within a housing association, council or similar organisation. With excellent communication and IT skills, coupled with a passion and track record for delivering high quality customer services; you will have the ability to work under pressure, organise your own workload and have great time management skills. You will put your customers first, respect and understand their concerns and needs when delivering services to them and inspire confidence and respect in your customers for you and the service you work for. You will be sensitive and responsive to the needs of all your customers, many of whom may experience significant challenges in their lives.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
