We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced communications professional to help support and lead our Communications, Engagement and Participation team in the Edinburgh Health and Social Partnership. We are undergoing an ambitious programme of strategic change as we transform and improve health and social care services for the people of Edinburgh and we are seeking a skilled individual to support the achievement of our strategic vision.
With a passion for communications and engagement, you will have experience of designing and implementing communications methods for a wide range of purposes and audiences. You will have experience at a strategic level, preferably in a complex, politically sensitive area with a high public profile. You will be skilled in developing and maintaining relationships, working closely with senior management and non-executives and will have excellent interpersonal, influencing and communications skills. You should also have experience of leading a team of communications professionals and supporting them to deliver high-quality services.
This is an integrated post and the successful candidate will be able to choose between NHS Lothian employment and City of Edinburgh Council terms and conditions of employment. This includes salary.
Experience:- Experience of working in health and social care services
- Experience of working in communications and engagement with the media and public
- Experience of managing colleagues and budgets
- An in-depth understanding of service issues and problem resolution
- Excellent communication and team building skills
- Ability to analyse and identify solutions and responses in cases which are complex and challenging
- Qualified to degree or equivalent of training and experience in a relevant subject
- Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) or Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) qualified or equivalent relevant post-graduate certification or modules in a Communications related subject or equivalent experience
- Ability to develop integrated policies and procedures
- Ability to provide recommendations for policies and procedures to a range of stakeholders and colleagues
- Ability to use creativity in developing and overseeing programmes
- Ability to develop and manage excellent stakeholder relationships
