Salary: £34,452 - £40,501 (pro-rata for part-time and sessional)

Hours: 25 per week, 39 weeks sessional

Oaklands is a special school for nursery, primary and secondary age pupils. The school meets the needs of learners with complex medical needs and long term additional support needs who require a significantly modified learning environment.

We are looking for conscientious, committed candidates with excellent inter-personal and communication skills. You will be working as part of a team and there will be many training opportunities to support you in working with our children and young people. It is desirable that applicants should have experience working with children and families with learning disabilities.

The Senior Pupil Support Officer role will work with children and families as they transition from school to adult services and as part of this process they will liaise with external organisations to ensure a smooth transition. The Senior Pupil Support Officer will contribute to the training and mentoring of new support staff.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
