St Crispin's is a special school for primary and secondary age pupils, supporting learners with complex, long‑term additional support needs who require a significantly modified learning environment. The needs of learners are primarily associated with intellectual disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Working pattern

Hours: 30 per week, 39 weeks sessional. Monday - Thursday 8:30 a.m. – 3:35 p.m.; Friday 8:25 a.m. – 1:20 p.m.

Responsibilities

Each class has a maximum of 6 learners. Pupil Support Workers work as part of a class team, along with the class teacher, to support each learner to reach their full potential.

Requirements

Desirable experience working with children with intellectual disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Legal and background checks

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an overseas criminal record check will be required. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre‑employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Benefits

Salary range: £27,257 - £29,850 (pro‑rata for part‑time and sessional). The salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range. Flexible working arrangements may be discussed.
