Hours: 36 per week. Pay includes unsocial hours payment of £9,385.15. This role works on a 4x4 night shift rota (four days on, four days off) driving street-cleansing vehicles, subject to holding a valid B licence.
Responsibilities- Drive and operate 4x4 street-cleansing vehicles on the night shift.
- Carry out street and open-space cleaning, litter collection, environmental inspection and enforcement.
- Perform vehicle and equipment checks, complete required paperwork and supervise cleansing operatives, including lone workers.
- Use handheld technology to record work, receive instructions and report on actions or problems identified.
- Remove waste such as litter, leaves, faeces, needles, fly-tipping material and dead animals from streets and open spaces, and service litter bins.
- Ensure day-to-day operational tasks meet relevant Service Standards and comply with Safe Working Practices.
- Act as first point of contact with the local community, providing advice, responding to problems and working with relevant colleagues and agencies to maintain high customer-care standards.
- A current B licence for driving, and a clean driving record.
- Availability to work a night shift on a 4-day on/4-day off rota.
