Salary: £39,129 – £46,023 (pro rata for part‑time and sessional)

Hours: 28.8 hours per week

Overview

We are excited to welcome an Active Schools Coordinator to lead the new Wider Achievement and Lifelong Learning Service. You will provide the Active Schools Service to children and young people in the Trinity Academy Learning Community, creating opportunities, inspiring engagement and changing lives through sport and physical activity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with school staff, pupils, volunteers, local partners and clubs to develop and deliver a diverse programme of sport and physical activities.
  • Recruit, train and support volunteers.
  • Develop pathways from extracurricular education to community clubs.
  • Support participation for priority groups to increase diversity and inclusion.

Additional Requirements

The successful candidate will develop and support the delivery of high‑quality sport and physical activities to all children and young people, taking an inclusive approach and providing targeted opportunities where required. A good understanding of current priorities and policies relating to sport and physical activity’s positive impact on individuals and communities is essential.

Applications will be subject to the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The candidate must join the PVG Scheme or complete a PVG Scheme update. Where one has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. These checks must be satisfactory for an unconditional offer and commencement.
