Early Years Practitioner - fixed term until 25/09/2026

St Mark's Early Learning and Childcare

Salary: £29,173 - £33,287

Hours: 36 per week, 52 weeks

Working week: Monday to Friday. Shifts: varying between the hours of 7.45am and 6pm

The applicant must be eligible for registration (without conditions) with the SSSC as a Practitioner in Day Care of Children. The candidate must have a practice qualification as noted in the attached job profile. This role requires working shift patterns, therefore please only apply if you can undertake these within the days and hours specified above.

St Mark's Early Learning and Childcare offers Early Learning and Childcare to children aged 2-5 years. St Mark's Early Learning and Childcare is a new build that has a capacity of 110 children at any time. At St Mark's we are committed to providing an excellent early years' experience, based on mutual respect, partnership, participation and fun.

We are looking to recruit one full-time, passionate and driven Early Years Practitioner to join our existing nursery team, on a fixed term basis. This role is primarily set in our Terrific 2's playroom. The successful applicant must demonstrate experience in forming good relationships with children, parents, staff and the wider community. Through the recruitment process, they will need to demonstrate enthusiasm, energy, commitment, initiative, optimism and flexibility to their work.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
