Salary: £30,188 - £34,452 (pro-rata for part-time and sessional)

Hours: 36 per week, 39 weeks sessional

Working pattern: Mon 8am to 3:42pm, Tues 8am to 4:30pm and Wed 8am to 5pm, Thurs 8am to 3:42pm and Fri 8am to 1.06pm, with 30 minute unpaid breaks Mon-Thurs

We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative and motivated Early Years Practitioner to join our team at Prestonfield Primary School and Nursery, a welcoming and inclusive setting located in the south-east of Edinburgh. Our small, friendly school prides itself on nurturing strong relationships with children, families and the wider community. Our nursery provides high-quality early learning and childcare for children aged 3-5 within a caring, play-based environment that supports curiosity, creativity and independence. The setting can accommodate up to 64 children and works closely with the primary stages to ensure a smooth and supportive transition into school life. We are proud of our strong focus on partnership with families and our commitment to supporting the wellbeing and development of every child.

Our staff team works collaboratively to create engaging learning experiences both indoors and outdoors, supporting children to develop confidence, resilience and a lifelong love of learning.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
