Pupil Support Assistant - fixed Term until 18/12/2026
Salary: £26,806 - £27,032 (pro-rata for part-time and sessional)
Hours: 27 per week, 39 weeks sessional
An exciting opportunity has arisen for two PSA roles at St David's RC Primary School. The role involves working with 1:1 children and also taking small groups. The successful candidate will work as part of a supportive staff team who are committed to providing a safe, secure and inclusive environment for all. St. David's RC Primary School is a diverse and multicultural primary school in the North of Edinburgh. The school receives PEF funding with 66% of our learners living in SIMD 1 and 2. In our school community, around 75% of our pupils have English as an additional language and we have a wonderful spread of cultures which we embrace and promote. There is a very strong inclusive ethos at St. David's RC and we are well supported by a range of partnership services and agencies, which enhance the work and wider life of the school.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
