Early Years Practitioner - Fixed Term Contract Until 29/01/2027

Location: Dalry Primary School & Nursery

Salary: £30,188-£34,452 (pro-rata for part-time and sessional)

Hours: 15 per week, 39 weeks sessional

Working Pattern: Monday and Tuesday 08:00am to 16:00pm (with a 30min break)

Dalry is a diverse and multicultural primary school & nursery, 5min walk from Haymarket Station. We are looking for an Early Years Practitioner to join our enthusiastic and committed team, and to be part of our positive and nurturing environment.

You must ensure that you have one of the following qualifications before you apply: HNC Child Care and Education, SVQ level 3 or Social Services (Children and Young People) SCQF Level 7. When completing the application form please state clearly the name of your qualification and level as stated above. We will be unable to consider your application if you do not have the required qualification which is essential to the role.

Early Years Practitioners working in services registered with the Care Inspectorate are required to be registered, without conditions, with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as Practitioner in Day Care of Children, and maintain registration throughout the period of employment.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
