Nether Currie Primary School has moved into a new era with the addition of early learning and child care provision for children aged 2-5 years. A fabulous new nursery building opened in August 2022 and we have steadily seen our numbers of children rise over this time. We are looking for a Senior Early Years Officer to join our setting, who can bring knowledge, experience, vitality, flexibility and a passion for helping young children develop and grow through planning and providing high quality learning experiences.
The successful candidates will have proven management knowledge along with experience of establishing and leading a new team. The setting will offer early learning and childcare 52 weeks of the year, across a variety of models for up to 64 children.
The person must hold an HNC/SVQ3 in a relevant Childhood Practice award and an advanced early years qualification which accords with the requirements of the Standard for Childhood Practice and meet SSSC registration requirements without conditions. A commitment to undertaking the BA Childhood Practice is essential.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
