Nether Currie Primary School has moved into a new era with the addition of early learning and childcare provision for children aged 2-5 years. A fabulous new nursery building opened in August 2022 and we have steadily seen our numbers of children rise over this time.

\n

\n

The setting offers early learning and childcare 52 weeks of the year, across a variety of models for up to 64 children. You must hold SCQF Level 7 in Social Services (Children and Young People) or HNC Childhood Practice (SCQF Level 7).

Within our early years provision, children may attend between the hours of 8.00am - 6.00pm, 52 weeks of the year. To accommodate this, staff may work on a weekly rotational shift pattern between the hours of 7.45am and 6.15pm. For example, 7.45am to 3.30pm & 10.30am to 6.15pm.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

We particularly encourage applications from women for senior roles, as well as people from minority ethnic backgrounds, people with disabilities or neurodivergent people, care experienced people, carers and LGBT+ people across all levels of the organisation, all of whom are currently underrepresented.
