Pupil Support Worker - fixed term until 25/06/2027

Salary: £26,337 - £28,835 (pro-rata for part-time and sessional)

Hours: 27.5 per week, 39 weeks sessional

Drummond Community High School is a fully comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school based in Edinburgh city centre. We have a growing school roll. We pride ourselves on Nurturing Big Ambitions and this school vision permeates every aspect of our diverse and inclusive school community.

Our pathways of support are designed to ensure that every young person develops their academic potential, talents, interests and abilities and we offer a wide range of opportunities across the curriculum from S1 to S6 to prepare learners for their future positive destination.

The school is located very close to the centre of Edinburgh, with some parking however also excellent transport links via tram, bus and train, to all areas of the city and surrounding areas.

We are looking for an enthusiastic PSW to join our Support for Learning Team, to work one to one with pupils with additional support needs. The PSW will ideally have relevant experience in the secondary sector. Good communication and a commitment to supporting appropriate pupil progress are essential to this post.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
