Hours: 30 per week, 39 weeks sessional

We are currently seeking to recruit a kind, caring and passionate Pupil Support Officer to join our Integrated Pupil Support Team. The Integrated Support Team provides a safe and welcoming approach where positive relationships and trauma-informed practices can help young people achieve their potential. There will be a focus on developing social, emotional and communication skills alongside support to access the academic curriculum. The successful candidate will also lead on supporting learners who face barriers to their learning and/or require support with attendance and wellbeing due to poverty.

Experienced PSAs, from either secondary or primary, or those who can demonstrate their experience working with children with additional support needs are encouraged to apply. The role will involve building trusting relationships with children and their families. All successful candidates will be given training support to help them carry out their roles.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
