What is the job role?
In this exciting role, you will help in shaping and delivering Coventry’s Drainage and Flood Risk Management service to support our ambition to be a top ten city where everybody can share in the benefits of sustainable growth. You will support and deputise for the Flood Risk Manager in the following key areas: deal with day-to-day management of the drainage and flood risk management service leading on strategy and policy, delivery of the Council's flood risk reduction and drainage improvement programme, and aligned to our vision, promote and lead on sustainable new development.

Who are we looking for?
Key to this role will be the investigation of flooding, knowledge of business case development to draw upon national and local fund sources for flood alleviation, and the reporting at all stages of projects from strategic business case to project close. Knowledge of design standards and the management of project development, project delivery, and finances is essential.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Flood Risk Engineering and Strategy Officer to join our team. This senior role is crucial in developing and delivering the Council's Local Flood Risk Management Strategy, conducting Strategic Flood Risk Assessments, and managing the Surface Water Management Plan. The successful candidate will provide technical advice across City Services, particularly Highways and Planning.
