The role of the Neighbourhood Response Team (NRT) is to provide public facing day‑time and night‑time patrols to respond to anti‑social behaviour and quality of life issues of concern in the community, providing information, advice and guidance to residents and businesses, appropriate victim care and proactive engagement with perpetrators gathering evidence and taking enforcement action when required. The NRT work collaboratively with partners to prevent crime and anti‑social behaviour, problem solve day‑to‑day operational issues, undertake high visibility patrols, support early intervention through positive action and provide reassurance to promote community cohesion.

The post holder must possess excellent communication skills and will be required to work with multiple agencies to ensure that the correct support and advice is given to the residents, business and wider stakeholders in Doncaster and as such, apply problem‑solving daily in these challenging and rewarding roles.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake patrols throughout the borough responding to anti‑social behaviour and quality of life issues of concern to the community.
  • Attend, engage, and report incidents of anti‑social behaviour, providing initial interventions including appropriate victim care and proactive engagement with perpetrators (challenging robustly where appropriate) to seek positive solutions.
  • Proactive patrols of local communities to prevent crime and anti‑social behaviour, support early intervention through positive action and reassurance to promote community cohesion.
  • Working proactively to search for and secure evidence to pursue individuals involved in anti‑social behaviour and environmental crime, liaising with other agencies and council departments where appropriate.
  • Attend Court when required and be capable of giving evidence in a clear, accurate and confident manner.
