The City of Doncaster Council is a confident, ambitious organisation which puts improving the life of its residents at the centre of everything we do. We are looking for an experienced, confident and motivated Social Worker to provide a service to Children and Young people and ensure that their needs are met at an appropriate level within a timely manner.
A minimum of 2 years relevant experience post ASYE is required to include knowledge of Child Protection, LAC and up to date relevant legislation. The successful candidate will be expected to have a sound understanding of thresholds in relation to Section 17 and Section 47 of the Children’s Act 1989. Experience of statutory care proceedings is desirable.
Due to the nature of the role you will be required to work effectively with partner agencies in response to immediate Safeguarding concerns. Good communication skills are essential as is the ability to challenge effectively when required. A good knowledge of systems and IT skills is required, the post is predominantly office based.
The successful candidate will be part of the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) team which is a fast-paced environment subject to challenging deadlines and changing priorities. The successful candidate will have experience of managing their own workload and keep their direct line managers fully informed when required in areas of work that require further oversight and management decision making.
You will work as part of a team and will work flexibly to meet the demands of the role. This is an ideal opportunity to join a Multi-Agency environment who are committed to providing a quality service to our Children and Young people.
