The Job
Join our team, as a Mechanic and you'll be putting your expert knowledge to use within an exciting working environment with real variety on offer. You will provide an efficient and effective repair and maintenance of all Motor Transport vehicles including RFFS Appliances, and all other Mechanical service equipment used at CODA, in accordance with regulations specified by International standards, the Civil Aviation Authority, DVA/NI and Airport procedures and policies.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties include:
- Assistance with the day-to-day operations of the Mechanical Services section
- Maintenance and repair of all vehicle types
- Operation of the prescribed maintenance programme
- Ensure that the Mechanical Services Section complies with local and current Health & Safety at Work Regulations.
- Complete where appropriate control of contractors documentation.
- To provide support to other Engineering Department Engineers and other Departments, when required.
- Maintaining strict procurement and budget control in accordance with the SAFO/AOM Managers requirements
- To exhibit good housekeeping at equipment sites, workshops, equipment rooms and stores.
- Assist to contractors during installation and repair of new or existing vehicles and equipment.
- To carry out control and replenishment of stock and equipment stores.
- To keep abreast of technological advances relevant to the post specifically electric and hybrid advances and undertake training when required.
- The accurate maintenance of all logbooks records, maintenance documentation and document control in accordance with the Airport SMS.
About You
- Formal Mechanical Engineering Apprentice training.
- A/C and D/C Auto electrical knowledge
- Hydraulic experience
- Have previous relevant experience
- Self-motivated, conscientious, able to work as part of a team.
- Willing to work some evenings weekends and bank holidays as and when required.
- Flexibility in working hours, willing to be part of a rostered Engineering call out team to cover shortfalls and in support of winters operations teams during inclement weather conditions.
