Location: This position is eligible for a hybrid work model. When attending an event or meeting in person, your primary office location will be based out of the Traffic Operations Centre at 1340 Brant Street, Burlington. Work location is subject to change at the discretion of the City due to operational demands. Effective September 2027 this role will be required to be on site 50% of the time each month.
Position Overview
This position is responsible for the operation of the traffic signal control system, including the development of signal timing and coordination plans to optimise traffic flow, maintaining accurate records and databases, and the analysis of data to enhance signal system operation.
Responsibilities
- Develop, monitor and evaluate traffic signal timing plans and control strategies to ensure correlation with prevailing traffic patterns.
- Troubleshoot and identify system issues and malfunctions, liaising with maintenance crews when necessary.
- Ensure all work is completed within applicable legal, engineering standards and policy requirements.
