The Department of Anthropology and Archaeology seeks a 1.0 FTE Lecturer (Lecturer J, pathway 3) in Biological Anthropology/Archaeology on a fixed-term 4 year contract. A versatile, well-rounded Biological Anthropologist, comfortable working across the discipline, you will support our unique ‘four field’ approach to anthropology in the UK.
You will have a track record of teaching expertise in core areas of biological and evolutionary anthropology, and experience in teaching undergraduate students quantitative and computational skills using R. Special consideration will be given to those who strengthen our Departmental teaching programmes by offering topics that complement our current unit portfolio.
What will you be doing?
- Teach the equivalent of 4-5 undergraduate units each year, across core and specialist biological anthropology, and into broader team-taught anthropology and archaeology units.
- Contribute to curriculum development by developing a unit on quantitative methods using R, appropriate for the broad skills range of undergraduate anthropology students.
- Take on administrative roles and play an active part in departmental processes.
- Act as personal tutor.
