This post offers a unique and exciting opportunity for clinical academic training in either Medical Microbiology/Infectious diseases, Rheumatology or Neurosurgery. Based within a thriving and supportive environment, the post will allow the successful applicant to develop collaborations to write grants, undertake projects, write papers and work towards an advanced fellowship application to begin to establish themselves as an independent clinical researcher and educator.

What will you be doing?

This is a clinical academic training post.

You should apply if:

  • You want to be a clinical academic leader in either Medical Microbiology/Infectious diseases, Rheumatology or Neurosurgery.
  • You have completed and submitted a PhD or equivalent.
  • You have a NTN or equivalent.

Additional information:

  • Contract type: Fixed-term for a period of 4 years or until CCT, whichever occurs first.
  • Work pattern: Full‑time (40h) or part‑time (at a minimum 66% FTE) (to be agreed).
  • Grade: Clinical Academic - Pathway 1.
  • Salary: University of Bristol will mirror the successful applicants' NHS pay and progression, including transitional pay. The salary will be based on the relevant clinical academic scale (Doctor in training).
  • School/Unit: Bristol Medical School.
  • Shift pattern: To be agreed.
