We have an exciting opportunity for a Careers and Employability Advisor to join our college community.

As a Careers and Employability Advisor, you will provide professional, impartial and student-focused careers information, advice and guidance, helping individuals understand their skills, raise their aspirations and explore opportunities in education, training and employment. You will work with a diverse range of learners, including 16–18-year-olds, apprentices, adults, ESOL learners, students with SEND and Higher Education students.

You will provide high-quality careers guidance through one-to-one appointments, workshops and group sessions, using your knowledge of the local labour market, progression routes and employment opportunities to help students make positive and realistic career choices. You will play an important role in delivering an inclusive careers programme across the College, supporting the Gatsby Benchmarks, Matrix Standards and Ofsted requirements.

You will work closely with teaching staff, personal development tutors and wider student support teams to embed careers education into the curriculum and ensure students have access to the information and support they need to progress successfully.

We are looking for someone who is proactive, approachable and able to build positive relationships with students and colleagues. You will be confident delivering careers and employability workshops on topics such as CV writing, job searching, applications, interview techniques and UCAS, while adapting your approach to meet the needs of different learners.

Most importantly, you will be a strong advocate for students, helping them build the confidence, knowledge and skills to take their next steps into further study, employment, training or other positive destinations.
