The University of Bristol is seeking an ambitious, driven and high-performing Head Coach to lead our Men’s Rugby Union Performance Squad as we target promotion into the BUCS Super Rugby league. This is an exciting opportunity to take charge of one of the country’s leading university rugby programmes, working within a high-performance environment that combines elite student-athlete development with professional rugby standards.
Working closely alongside the Head of Rugby, the successful candidate will play a key role in recruiting, developing and leading a talented squad capable of competing at the very highest level of university rugby. With strong links to Bristol Bears, the programme attracts a high calibre of player, including individuals on professional and dual-registration contracts, creating a unique and ambitious rugby environment. As a Top 10 Bucs University for 10 consecutive seasons now, the University Performance team is a passionate and ambitious place to work.
What will you be doing?
- Lead and manage the Men’s Performance Squad programme
- Deliver a high-performance coaching environment aligned to Super Rugby ambitions
- Recruit and retain high-quality student-athletes
- Develop individual and team performance across technical, tactical and cultural areas
- Work collaboratively with the Head of Rugby, S&C, medical and performance staff
- Build strong relationships with Bristol Bears and wider rugby stakeholders
- Contribute to the continued growth and reputation of University of Bristol Rugby
