Source catering is the University of Bristol’s award-winning catering brand and are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly individual to take the role of Catering Events Assistant & Driver at the university. You will be working across our catering department which includes 4 catered halls of residence, events & conference spaces, 8 cafes, 2 bars and a food court and will suit someone who has experience in hospitality and/or catering.

The role will be primarily working with our events, conference and delivered catering team, supporting with the setup, close down and running of functions, catering deliveries, moving/looking after stock and equipment. Our contracts are 5 over 7 days a week, predominantly Monday – Friday with potential for early mornings, and some evenings and/or weekend work. This is an amazing opportunity that provides work-life balance, training & development, working alongside a large and supportive team and involvement in exciting food & drink projects. The contract is 35 hours a week with paid overtime, generous annual leave as well as extra paid days off for university closure days.

What will you be doing?

  • Setting up, closing down and supporting the service for our conferences & events.
  • Upkeep of stock and equipment within events & hospitality.
  • Processing hospitality orders and delivering across the university and city, setting stations up to a high standard as required.
  • Movement/delivery of food goods, adhering to Food Safety laws.
  • Supporting with early morning milk deliveries to university departments.
  • Other logistic or service tasks as required across the department.

You should apply if you have:

  • Hospitality experience in food service and dealing with guests.
  • Experience of working within a diverse team.
  • High organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Hard working and flexible to take on varying tasks.
  • Physically fit as this role will involve lifting and carrying heavy stock and equipment.
  • Held a UK driving licence for a minimum of 2 years.
  • Ideally, experience driving commercial vehicles.
