The University of Bristol has an opportunity for a dynamic, experienced and multi-skilled hospitality & catering professional to lead a diverse operation within its new Temple Quarter flagship campus. The role will suit someone who has experience supervising catering/F&B outlets, events & hospitality.
Opening in September 2026, the Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus will host large numbers of functions, conferences, events, dinners and catering requests delivered by the university’s catering team, ‘Source’. Collaborating and supported by the catering management team and senior chefs, the Team Leader will be the main contact for the delivery of the catering for these various events.
What will you be doing?
- Set up and close down events, whether conferences, banquets, drinks receptions, BBQs or anything else.
- Ensure all equipment and stock has been ordered and is ready for use.
- Oversee rotas, utilising colleagues or casual staff as required.
- Answer operational queries from customers.
- Communicate details of events clearly with kitchen team.
- Act as a Duty Manager for functions.
- Train colleagues on operational standards and compliance, ensuring our customers receive a consistent, first-class service at all times.
You should apply if
- You have experience in retail catering or hospitality.
- Extensive experience in catering for various functions, whether small or large, casual or formal and high-profile.
- Highly organised and self-motivated, able to problem solve and take responsibility for challenges that arise.
- Supervisory experience of casual team, able to delegate tasks and ensure high standards.
- Hold relevant qualifications in food safety and health & safety.
