Source catering is the University of Bristol’s award-winning catering brand and are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly individual to take the role of Events Supervisor at the university. The role will be working in one of our catering outlets which include 4 catered halls of residence, some beautiful events & conference spaces, 9 cafes, 2 bars and a food court and will suit someone who has experience in the industry and can demonstrate leadership qualities.
We currently have vacancies within our team for experienced Events Supervisors. Our events team work across multiple sites, situated across various parts of the city delivering a range of events from banquet dinners, BBQs, conferences to canape and drinks receptions. The team also oversee all things catering and events within the University’s sports complex at Coombe Dingle, as well supporting our in-house delivery team.
This is an amazing opportunity that provides work-life balance, training & development, working alongside a large and supportive team and involvement in exciting food & drink projects. The contract is 35 hours a week, spread over 5 days, with paid overtime, generous annual leave as well as extra paid days off for university closure days.
What will you be doing?
You will be supporting the Conference & Events Manager and the rest of the team delivering a range of events around the university to students, staff and external clients. You’ll be responsible for the running of events, including setting-up and closing down functions, ensuring stock and equipment has been ordered and is ready for use, overseeing casual staff working your events and liaising with clients on the day.

- Highly organised and self-motivated, able to problem solve and take responsibility for challenges that arise.
- Supervisory experience of casual team, able to delegate tasks and ensure high standards.
