Apprenticeship Lecturer in Electrical Maintenance Engineering in Bristol

Contract: Part time, Permanent

Hours: 497 annualised, equivalent to 0.6 FTE

Delivery: There are 7 two-week blocks throughout the year from October to May, during those times you will be expected to work up to 30hrs per week. When not in block delivery weekly hours will be reduced. It is essential to this role that you are able to meet this delivery requirement.

About your role:

As an Electrical Engineering Lecturer, you will play a key role in developing apprentices' technical knowledge and confidence through engaging classroom-based learning and practical engineering delivery. You will design and deliver exciting, relevant and industry-focused learning experiences that bring engineering concepts to life, helping apprentices bridge the gap between theory and real-world application.

Key responsibilities include:

• You will deliver high-quality teaching to Level 2 and Level 3 Electrical Engineering apprentices, supporting learners to achieve the knowledge requirements of their apprenticeship standards.
• You will plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons and assessments, creating innovative learning resources that motivate and inspire apprentices.
• You will teach a range of engineering subjects, including:
• Engineering Health & Safety
• Technical Information
• Engineering Mathematics
• Engineering Principles (Physics)
• Electrical Maintenance
• Engineering Materials
• Electrical and Electronics Theory
• You will monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback to support achievement.
• You will contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching and learning within the department.

Delivery Model: One of the unique features of this role is our structured delivery timetable. You will deliver apprenticeships in two-week blocks, consisting of 10 consecutive delivery days, allowing you to:

• Build strong relationships with learners.
• Deliver topics in depth without frequent interruptions.
• Effectively plan and track learner progression.
• Create immersive learning experiences that maximise engagement and knowledge retention.
