Overview
As Investment Finance Manager, you support financial control and fund administration across Northern LGPS and its partner funds. You will handle NAV reviews, valuations, cash monitoring and investment compliance, ensuring accurate records and timely delivery. The role offers exposure to the evolving operating model as Northern LGPS builds an FCA authorised investment management company, collaborating with funds, auditors and third parties. You shape process improvements and strengthen governance in a mission-driven pension fund environment. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality service and robust controls.

Responsibilities
- Deliver fund control activities including valuations, pricing, cash monitoring, alternative investments, trade reconciliation and investment compliance.
- Perform NAV reviews to agreed timelines and maintain accurate fund information records.
- Support partner funds in regulatory compliance while helping Northern LGPS meet FCA requirements.
- Process private markets transactions and manage related records in internal data systems.
- Apply preventive, detective and corrective controls and address issues within timelines.
- Coordinate with internal and external audit teams to support issue resolution.
- Support SLAs, KPIs and KRI reporting; ensure timely performance and information delivery.
- Develop knowledge of Fund Control breadth and system support for Operations; identify improvement opportunities.
- Maintain up-to-date procedures and documentation with proper version control.
- Contribute to monthly performance reviews and KPI/KRI data preparation.
- Collaborate with other Operations teams during peak periods and client onboarding.
- Build relationships with partner funds and third parties; support changes to service arrangements.
- Occasionally undertake secondments to partner funds to enhance understanding of services.
- Maintain regulatory training including anti-money laundering requirements.
Key requirements
- At least two years’ experience in a Fund Control department within an FCA-regulated financial services firm.
- Part qualification towards a relevant accounting qualification.
- FCA industry-recognised qualifications.
- Five GCSEs A-C, including English and Maths, or equivalent.
