The Library Service is looking to recruit a Local Studies & Archive Assistant to join our team at Keighley Local Studies Library.
Our Local Studies and Archives teams collect, preserve and promote the documented history and heritage of the District enabling access to these extensive resources for a wide variety of customers and researchers.
The main responsibilities of this role include working within the team on front line services including providing a customer-focused enquiry and research service, supporting visitors and answering enquiries by phone and email.
The duties of the post include assisting with the maintenance of stock and other collection management tasks such as indexing and cataloguing as well as assisting with events and activities and in engaging people with their heritage and local area.
The successful candidate will have an interest in history and heritage. They will be enthusiastic and adaptable and have excellent teamworking and interpersonal skills.
Candidates should have experience of library and/or archives collections and experience of working in a customer focused environment.
