Location: Covent Garden, London/Online

Salary: £39.11 per hour, inclusive of pro rata holiday entitlement and preparation time

About the role

Are you an engaging Portuguese Language Tutor with a passion for teaching adult learners and bringing language to life in the classroom? Join the thriving Languages department at our ‘outstanding’ Ofsted-rated college and help enrich lives through learning by bringing people together from across London and beyond. In this role, you’ll be a key contributor to our Languages department, where our renowned high-quality courses focus on inspiring students to explore and develop their language skills in the context and application of the target language. You will be part of a supportive team and receive plenty of opportunities for developing your teaching practice.

We are currently seeking Brazilian/European Portuguese Tutors to teach one or more of the following courses:

  • Term 1:
  • European Portuguese beginners: module 1 Tuesdays, 22/09/2026 – 01/12/2026 18:00 – 19:30 In-person
  • Portuguese for Portunhol speakers Wednesdays, 23/09/2026 – 02/12/2026 18:00 – 19:30 In-person
  • Term 2:
    • Brazilian Portuguese 2 lower: module 1 Monaches, 18/01/27 – 22/03/27 18:00 – 19:30 Online
    • Brazilian beginners: module 1 Wednesdays, 13/01/27 – 17/03/27 18:00 – 19:30 In person

    About the applicant

    To apply, please submit your CV and a covering letter, detailing your skills and experience. If you wish to be considered for any of the courses listed above, please indicate this clearly in your application. The ideal candidate will have:

    • Experience of teaching Brazilian/European Portuguese to adults or groups of adults.
    • A subject relevant degree.
    • Up to date knowledge, enthusiasm, and interest for the subject that can inspire students.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Experience of teaching face-to-face/online courses.
    • A teaching qualification (desirable).
