About the role
Are you an experienced and dynamic Japanese Language Tutor with a passion for teaching adult learners? Join the thriving Languages department at ‘outstanding’ Ofsted-rated college and help enrich lives through learning by bringing people together from across London and beyond. The Languages department offers courses in over 30 modern and classical world languages, including Japanese, across all levels from beginners to advanced. Courses are delivered both online and face-to-face, during the day, evenings, and weekends. This role plays a vital part in supporting learners to develop practical Japanese language skills and communicate confidently in real-life situations.
We are currently seeking Japanese Language Tutor(s) to teach the following courses:
- This Academic Year (2025–26)
- Japanese Beginners – Short Introduction:
- Schedule: Monday, 10:30–12:30
- Duration: 3 weeks, from 22 June 2026 to 6 July 2026
- Delivery: Face‑to‑face
- Location: Keeley Street, Covent Garden
- Japanese 3 Upper – Module 1:
- Schedule: Wednesday, 18:00–19:30
- Dates: 23 September 2026 to 2 December 2026
- Delivery: Face‑to‑face
- Location: Keeley Street, Covent Garden
- Additional information: Possibility of continuing in Terms 2 and 3, subject to enrolment.
- Japanese Beginners – Module 1:
- Schedule: Saturday, preferably 10:00–12:00
- Duration: 8 weeks from October 2026
- Delivery: Face‑to‑face
- Location: Keeley Street, Covent Garden
- Additional information: Possibility of continuing in January depending on enrolment.

The ideal candidate will have:
- Advanced level of verbal and written Japanese, with the ability to converse at native speaker level.
- Experience of teaching Japanese, ideally to groups of adults.
- Up to date knowledge, enthusiasm and interest for the subject.
