Salary:£38.72 per hour, inclusive of pro rata holiday entitlement and preparation time.

About the role

Are you a dynamic Ancient Languages Tutor with a passion for teaching adult learners and engaging with students? Then why not join the thriving Ancient Languages and Civilisation department at our ‘outstanding’ Ofsted rated College, helping to bring together people across London and beyond, and to enrich lives through learning.

The department offers renowned high-quality courses in several ancient world languages, including Latin and Ancient Greek, catering to all levels, from beginners to advanced, with both online and classroom formats, ranging from daytime, evening and weekend. This role will play a key part in enabling learners to develop their knowledge of grammar, build their vocabulary with a view to reading texts in the original language.

We are currently seeking an Ancient Languages Tutor for:

  • Latin 5 advanced: poetry groupon Tuesdays, 12:30 – 13:40, 30thSeptember – 2ndDecember 2025 (in person, fixed-term).
  • Latin 1: module 1on Fridays, 11:00 – 12:30, 3rdOctober – 5thDecember 2025 (in person, fixed term).

  • Flexibility to teach both online and face-to-face courses.
  • Excellent communication skills.
