At The Sir Thomas Hotel, Sir Thomas Street, Liverpool L1 6JB, we have a great opportunity for an experienced Reservations Manager to join our vibrant hotel in Liverpool City Centre. As a Reservations Manager, you will have full responsibility for managing the hotel’s room bookings and supporting revenue performance by ensuring accurate availability, competitive and market-driven pricing, and a smooth reservation process.
You will utilise your experience, strong commercial awareness, and analytical thinking skills to help us enhance the hotel’s exemplary levels of service as well as drive bookings and revenue growth. With an excellent eye for detail, the Reservations Manager will be organised and self-motivated with a hands-on and pro-active approach. You will have full support from the Directors and the teams at the Head Office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage daily reservations across all channels (RezLynx, ResDiary, OTAs, PMS, direct).
- Maintain accurate room availability, rates, and restrictions.
- Monitor booking pace, cancellations, and occupancy levels.
- Support room rate management in line with demand, events, and forecasts.
- Handle and/or assist with all booking enquiries.
- Produce basic occupancy and revenue reports on a weekly basis.
- Monitor market demand, city events, and competitor activity to support pricing decisions.
- Identify opportunities to improve average daily rate (ADR), occupancy, and conversion.
- Identify and implement pricing solutions and promotional strategies when required.
- Deliver hotel budget goals and set other short- and long-term strategic goals for the venue.
- Maintain a proactive, agile approach to changing market conditions.
- Actively monitor city events and local activity to identify demand opportunities.
- Take part in Heads of Departments (HOD) meetings when needed and produce necessary paperwork/presentation(s).
- Assist the Sales and Operations teams to maximise room yield and hotel revenue through innovative sales practices.
- Coordinate and assist with Heads of Department for the execution of all activities and functions.
- Assist with marketing and promoting vital events timely to maximise the hotel’s revenue.
- Deal with correspondence, calls, and emails in a timely and friendly manner to support the hotel’s brand.
Skills, Experience and Knowledge:
- Previous experience of Reservation Management within the hospitality business.
- Detailed knowledge and proven competence of Rezlynx / ResDiary.
- Detailed knowledge and proven competence of the application/use of Lighthouse software (or equivalent).
- Experience of managing reservations in a busy hotel.
- Marketing experience/knowledge of marketing strategies within hospitality is desirable.
- Detailed knowledge about how Online Travel Agents (OTAs) operate e.g. Booking.com & Expedia.
- Ability to find creative solutions with proven problem-solving capabilities offering support where required.
- Personal integrity, with the ability to work in an environment that demands excellence, time, and energy.
- Ability to multitask in a busy environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to react promptly and proactively to changing market conditions, demand patterns, and booking trends.
- Highly adaptable, with the ability to anticipate change and act decisively in a fast-paced market environment.
