Overview: This is an exciting opportunity for an inspirational teacher to lead the outstanding Music and Performing Arts provision at City Junior School. Working closely with the Director of Music (City Schools), the successful candidate will ensure that music and drama continue to be a central and highly valued part of school life.
Responsibilities:
- Teach music to all Key Stage 2 pupils.
- Lead whole-class drama across Key Stage 2, teaching some drama lessons.
- Deliver a high standard of Music and Performing Arts in a junior setting.
- Plan and run a busy and vibrant calendar that includes termly concerts and showcases, a Year 4 spring show, and an end of Year 6 production for leavers.
- Manage Visiting Music Teachers and collaborate effectively with colleagues at the Junior School.
- Uphold the historic relationship with the choir of HM Chapel Royal St James Palace and engage actively with partnership initiatives within the City family of schools and with local institutional partners.
Qualifications & Experience: Strong record of delivering Music and Performing Arts to a very high standard in a junior setting. Excellent communication and organisational skills. Ability to work collaboratively with other staff and to support the relationship with external partners.
