Role: Commercial Account Executive (Trainee)
Location: Winchester
Reports To: Commercial Insurance Manager
Salary Range: Up to £22k depending on experience
Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:40 to 17:00

Job Summary

Under the guidance of the commercial team, you will be trained on the principles of business insurance and assist in the day‑to‑day handling of commercial business, including quoting for new policies, renewals and mid‑term adjustments. You will provide high‑quality support and assistance to the commercial team by caring for existing clients and helping to develop new business to meet growth targets. We offer a range of commercial insurance products from leading insurers, and look to exceed client expectations by providing the best service possible.

Essential Skills

• Good standard of education
• Proficient use of Windows programmes – Word and Excel
• Attentive with strong concentration in a busy environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to multi‑task and prioritise
• Can communicate with colleagues at all levels of seniority
• Can work with minimal supervision
• Quick learner

Responsibilities

• Use bespoke computer systems, Acturis and CDL
• Provide key support to the commercial team
• Engage with clients by telephone and e‑mail
• Liaise with insurance companies to make amendments and discuss existing policies
• Learn about different types of insurance and products
• Maintain a good level of personal presentation
• Identify client needs
• Adhere to company procedures and compliance obligations
• Treat customers fairly and give sound advice
