CHoICE Facilities Services are seeking a hardworking and reliable individual to join our team. As a Catering Assistant, you would be responsible for assisting production staff in the effective production and service of high-quality meals and beverages by carrying out associated cleaning and hygiene-related duties. The role is kitchen-based and involves cleaning and maintaining the kitchen and food production areas. The role is predominantly cleaning and is physically demanding.
This role is 20 hours per week with a shift pattern of 2pm-6pm, Monday to Sunday on a rota basis. The role of a catering assistant is an exciting opportunity for people who are motivated, flexible, task-focused and who have excellent communication skills. Main duties of the job:
- 20 hours per week (2pm-6pm, on a rota basis over 7 days)
- The catering department requires a catering assistant to maintain cleanliness and sanitation within the kitchen, production, dining rooms, central wash and staff changing areas including toilets.
- This is a physical role requiring the use of machinery including floor scrubbers.

Person Specification:
Experience:- Good understanding of catering services
- Catering experience
- Experience of working in a healthcare environment
- Experience in a production environment
- Experience of cash/card payment handling
- Previous experience in dealing with the public
- Ability to accept and prioritise instructions
- Previous knowledge of catering environment
- Combination of bending/lifting/standing and walking with frequent requirement for physical effort.
- Basic Numeracy and Literacy education
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
