We have an exciting opportunity for the right individual to join us as an Operational Delivery Manager (Project Manager). You will join a team of Delivery Managers working across our priority sectors, collaborating with key stakeholders from across the business. Coordinating and managing the delivery of content and support from stakeholders will be a key part of the role.

You will need to have a good understanding of the products and services we offer. This role has a particular focus on continuous improvement. You will need to be good at looking at trends in data, spotting opportunities for improvement, and finding new ways of resolving issues. You will enjoy working to support internal and external customers and must be comfortable in delivering customer-facing webinars.

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity which is office-based, working out of our Wakefield office hub with a standard Monday to Friday schedule totalling 35 hours per week. We are a dog-friendly office and there may be dogs on site on various days of the week.

About the role: This is a unique opening within the business which will report to a Senior Operations Manager within the Centre Operations arm of our Awarding Organisation (AO) Operations function. You will manage the end-to-end operational implementation and delivery of key business activities from infancy through to BAU, ensuring that we meet the customer and business requirements across the City & Guilds Awarding Organisation.

Working with other Operational Delivery Managers and with support from our team of Coordinators and Administrators, you will ensure our operational processes and procedures are planned out across the delivery cycle. You will be required to create and implement a detailed delivery strategy and communicate with cross-functional teams to ensure all stakeholders are sufficiently informed regarding the processes and procedures required to deliver.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Detailed project planning with involvement from operational teams and internal stakeholders.
  • Liaison with our Operational Delivery Manager for communications to ensure comms plans align to the product and delivery timelines.
  • Ensuring website communication and key customer-facing documents such as information guides, checklists, and exam entry guidance documents are accurate according to the product being delivered.
  • Detailed analysis of delivery metrics to identify trends or issues.
  • Successful management of projects to agreed timelines and within cost and budget.
  • Identifying and escalating risks or issues to delivery, reporting on these accordingly.

  • Ability to pre-empt and analyse problems; analytical skills to monitor delivery data and progress.
  • A critical eye regarding customer-facing communication and documentation.
  • Strong abilities in presenting and explaining information to internal and external customers.
  • Experience in delivering professional and informative presentations or training to large audiences.
