We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, innovating, securing, and implementing infrastructure, network, cloud, server, and SaaS services. You’ll also provide 3rd-line support for end-user compute operations and act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for infrastructure-related queries.
You will be working on a hybrid basis with a mix of home and office. We’re flexible about where you might be based to undertake this role, but you’ll need to be able to travel into our London or Wakefield office when required. This role is essential to delivering robust and scalable infrastructure services that support our organisation's mission of providing exceptional services to our customers.
You will lead efforts to ensure the infrastructure is secure, compliant, and aligned with governmental and contractual obligations, while driving innovation and efficiency.
- Support and maintain IT infrastructure, including cloud, servers, and networks.
- Proven track record using ITIL and engineering practices in large-scale organisations.
- Manage patching, backups, and compliance for hybrid-cloud Microsoft environments.
- Resolve complex issues across networking, security, and end-user systems.
- Create and update technical documentation and IT governance.
- Optimise system performance and ensure high availability.
- Deliver IT education and development support for over 1,000 end users and their devices.
- Extensive IT support experience in large-scale environments.
- Strong knowledge of cloud services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and hybrid-cloud infrastructure.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Azure, Windows Server, and PowerShell scripting.
- Full UK driving licence with site travel flexibility.
- Experience with Cisco networking, MECM, and security platforms.
- Knowledge of project management and IT governance frameworks.
