We have a fantastic opportunity to join City & Guilds Training as a Marketing Manager. You will be working in Doncaster, the head office for one of our training businesses, Intertrain. This is a full-time, office-based role, working Monday to Friday, so the successful candidate will need to be able to commute to Doncaster daily.
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced Marketing Manager to support our training businesses in all their marketing activities. This is a hands-on Marketing Manager role, with responsibility for developing and delivering marketing strategy. As the Marketing Manager for our training businesses, you will be the lead advisor to key stakeholders, including the Head of Sales, Head of Products, and Head of Customer Experience, to develop and deliver marketing strategies that get results—ensuring that marketing initiatives align with product development and sales strategies. You will play a critical role in driving growth and delivering customer-centric solutions.
On a day-to-day basis, you will report to the City & Guilds Training Senior Programme Manager, who will support your work and development. You will receive additional support from our Product Marketing and Brand Director and will benefit from invitations to Central Marketing events. You will work closely with our Freelance Paid Media Consultant and our Marketing Agency on a regular basis to manage their day-to-day activity and ensure marketing targets are achieved. This position is suitable for someone looking for a role in which they can have full ownership of the marketing strategy.

About the Role:
- Collaborate closely with Product and Sales teams to ensure that marketing strategies are fully aligned with product development and sales initiatives.
- Foster synergy across the business by integrating marketing efforts with product launches, sales campaigns, and strategic goals.
- Collaborate with Product and Sales teams to ensure that marketing initiatives reflect the evolving needs and preferences of customers.
- Develop and implement customer-centric product marketing strategies that resonate with target audiences and drive engagement.
- Develop bespoke marketing strategies for each product line, enhancing differentiation and driving growth within the competitive landscape.
- Shape and communicate the customer value proposition narrative that sets each business unit / product / sector apart, focusing on unique value propositions and customer benefits.
- Conduct thorough market research and analysis to deepen understanding of market dynamics, customer needs, and competitor activities.
- Create detailed briefs for channel specialists in digital marketing, events, social media, and content to ensure consistent and effective execution of marketing initiatives.
- Effective and efficient management of the relationship with our website agency to ensure best-in-class user experience, consistent branding and content quality across all training websites.
- Management of comprehensive data collection ensuring GDPR, PECR and Governance compliance, ensure robust segmentation.
- Ensure robust data quality control and compliance.
- Effectively manage the creation of a wide range of content including blogs, case studies, social media posts, website copy, emails, and video scripts to engage markets and drive market share.
- Develop engaging content that resonates with target audiences and aligns with the brand voice and tone.
- Ensure all content is optimised for SEO to drive organic traffic and improve search rankings.
- Schedule and promote content on social media platforms, ensuring regular engagement and interaction with the audience to meet marketing objectives.
- Create email marketing content to nurture leads and drive conversions.
- Clearly articulate the goals, target audience, messaging, and deliverables for each campaign to guide channel-specific strategies.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of marketing strategies and initiatives.
- Act as a key liaison between City & Guilds Training Companies, and the broader central marketing organisation, including IS&DP, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
About You:
- Proven experience in product marketing or strategic marketing roles.
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate market insights into actionable marketing strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent understanding of segmentation, targeting and data, including expert knowledge of the CRM system.
- Experience in developing and executing marketing campaigns that drive brand awareness and customer engagement.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to travel.
It would be beneficial for you to have:
- Experience in a Marketing Lead role in a Technical Training industry (Rail, Electrical, Construction, etc.).
- Copywriting experience.
