We are currently recruiting an experienced NVQ Assessor (Electrical Installation) to join our team. This role is a mix of home working and on-site working, covering the Southeast / London region of the UK. Most of the work will be performed from home using online platforms for meetings. You will have unlimited access to the training centre if you prefer to work from the office, and may need to travel occasionally to meet learners for student observations.
About the role
- Carry out initial assessment of students to assess suitability for qualification.
- Conduct induction with students at the start of the programme.
- Ensure good engagement through regular contact and progress reviews.
- Maintain students’ learning plans and ensure alignment with programme requirements.
- Build a portfolio with each student, providing advice and guidance to enable completion of all mandatory elements.
- Act as conduit between training provider and employer where applicable.
- Take action on poor performance and report to the NVQ Team Leader.
- Complete documentation for breaks in learning and withdrawal paperwork.
- Ensure timely success rates and support learners with learning needs.
- Support students with End Point Assessment and provide initial advice.
- Serve as single point of contact on a daily basis.
- Maintain high standards of welfare, safeguarding, Prevent knowledge and workplace safety.
About you
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated team player with a desire to help and support learners and a willingness to learn new skills. It is expected that you will come from an electrical installation/maintenance/engineering background and hold relevant up-to-date qualifications and experience in electrical installation/maintenance.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Solid industry experience of electrical installation.
- Assessors A1/TAQA Level 3 (qualified assessor required for the Southeast / London region).
- Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships.
- Ability to create accessible learning materials.
- IT literacy with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Full UK driving licence and own car.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
- Internal Quality Assurance V1/TAQA L4.
The successful applicant will be required to undertake appropriate checks, including an enhanced DBS disclosure and proof of right to work in the UK.
