C&G Training is currently looking for a Training Officer (with experience in Electrical Installation) to join our business. This is a very interesting and busy role working closely with our apprentices. The role will be contracted to our Gatwick centre but this is a hybrid role and you will be offered a mix of working from the centre, from home and also visiting the employers' locations. This role will suit an individual who is a Gold Card Holder (Electrical Installations) and has an Assessors Award.

About the role:
The apprenticeship department is in a period of expansion. We have apprentices at 4 centres with 4 different pathways offered. The department has staff that look after different areas of apprenticeships. This Training Officer role is one of the critical roles in this growing and busy department.
Main Responsibilities:
- Carry out initial advice with employer and apprentice
- Carry out induction programme with apprentices at the start of the programme
- Be responsible for ensuring a good level of employer engagement via regular contact and through a progress review
- Feedback to the AOM employer needs and requirements from regular meetings
- Oversee the apprentices skill building in centre and in the workplace
- Feedback to the employer on the progress of the planned programme
- Ensure Progress reviews are carried out every 12 weeks maximum
- Build a portfolio with the apprentice, supporting them with advice and guidance to enable them to complete all mandatory elements of the programme
- Ensure each apprentice is working in line with their individual learning plan and meet the requirements for off the job hours
- Ensure the apprentice has a good level of knowledge, skills, and behaviours to reach gateway by the end of the practical period end date
- Act as conduit between training provider and employer/Apprentice
- Ensure all gateway requirements have been met including mandatory elements of the training programme, English and Maths
- Action plan poor performance and report this to AOM and employer
- Complete documentation when a Break in Learning is needed
- Complete withdrawal paperwork where required
- Ensure timely success rates are achieved
- Ensure high quality of provision can be evidenced for Ofsted inspection including the support a Training Officer gives to each apprentice
- Support learners with learning needs and ensure this is effectively put in place
- Support the apprentice through gateway to End Point Assessment
- Give initial advice and guidance to new apprentices and employers
- Be the single point of contact on a daily basis with the employer and apprentice
- Ensure the apprentices welfare, safeguarding and Prevent knowledge is to a high level
- Ensure the apprentice is kept safe in the workplace and issues are reported straight away

It is expected that the candidate will come from an electrical installation / maintenance / engineering background and hold relevant up to date qualifications along with experience within the field of electrical installation / maintenance.

- Excellent interpersonal, written & verbal communication skills
- A sound knowledge of Apprenticeships
- 5+ Year Industry experience of electrical installation
- Assessors A1/TAQA Level 3
- Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with individuals at all levels
- Ability to develop accessible learning materials for their students
- IT literacy with a basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
