We are looking for a competent industry expert to join us in producing assessment content for our Site Carpentry qualification. This examiner role involves producing on-demand, multiple-choice question (MCQ) papers and ongoing maintenance of examinations as required. Details on role profile and qualification specifications are available through City & Guilds.

The role offers the opportunity to work around your current job, with competitive daily rates, and opportunities to develop your skills and experience. A short call with the assessment team will be part of the recruitment process to discuss requirements and availability. Most work can be completed in your own time to meet deadlines, with a mandatory one-day MCQ writing training course in February 2026. After training, work would be commissioned in the following weeks, including a one full-day online meeting to evaluate assessment content (April/May 2026). Ongoing maintenance work may be required thereafter.

  • Produce on-demand MCQ examination papers for the Site Carpentry qualification.
  • Initial MCQ production and ongoing maintenance of examinations as required.
  • Attend mandatory training and a post-training online or in-person meeting to evaluate assessment content.
  • Work to deadlines and, where needed, participate in maintenance tasks on an ongoing basis.

  • Senior or industry-expert knowledge in Site Carpentry.
  • Ability to produce clear, accurate MCQs and participate in review discussions.
