We are looking for a T Level Principal Examiner to join us in the development and delivery of the Core Paper 1 for the Autumn 2025 assessment series and beyond.
This associate role gives you the opportunity to work alongside your current job, to build additional income with competitive daily rates, and to continue to develop your own skills and development.

The role will require input throughout the year as we produce assessments, with our examination series taking place in Summer and Autumn/Winter.
The Task Profile outlines the expectations of the Principal Examiner role, and the Person Specification outlines the experience we’re looking for someone to have as a Chief Examiner.

The Principal Examiner oversees the Core Paper 1 assessment.
This exam paper covers the following elements of the Management & Administration core content:
- Business context
- People
- Business behaviours
Section A is made up of 55 marks and includes 17 short answer and medium answer questions.
Section B is made up of 45 marks and includes 4 extended response questions.
The key timelines for each of the key activities the Principal Examiner is involved in are outlined below:
Autumn Series:
Standardisation: December
Marking Window: December-January
Awarding: February
Summer Series:
Standardisation: June
Marking Window: June-July
Awarding: July
Throughout the year, the Principal Examiner will also be on hand to support City & Guilds in responding to queries and feedback in relation to the assessments. The Principal Examiner must be available throughout the standardisation, marking and awarding windows.
This role consists of a retainer which is paid twice a year, as well as payment for the attendance at various meetings throughout the year and activities undertaken.
A full training and induction plan will be put in place for the successful applicant.

Applications will be reviewed on an on-going basis. Successful applicants for the Principal Examiner position will be asked to carry out a short task and attend a telephone interview, before being confirmed in the role. We will be aiming to conduct interviews in mid October.
