Would you be interested in supporting the delivery of our Functional Skills English assessments? We are looking for a Deputy Chief Examiner to join us in the production and delivery of our on‑going English assessments. The Deputy Chief Examiner is a key part of the delivery of the qualification and is involved in every aspect of the assessment production process. It will require input throughout the year as we produce assessments.
The Task Profile outlines the expectations of the role, and the Person Specification outlines the experience we’re looking for someone to have as a Deputy Chief Examiner. The successful applicant would be required throughout the year due to the nature of On‑Demand assessments.
As a Deputy Chief Examiner for Functional Skills English, you would be working on Reading and Writing assessments at Level 1 and Level 2. These are on‑demand assessments with new versions produced and released regularly throughout the year. The role will include working alongside other subject matter experts in writing and editing assessment content, and through the regular cycle of standardisation, marking and awarding.
The Deputy Chief Examiner should have strong industry experience with a passion in supporting learners in an important step in their journey, with a commitment to quality and high standards. Experience in writing and reviewing question papers is welcomed but not necessary.
