This role gives you the opportunity to work with City & Guilds alongside your current job, to build additional income with competitive daily rates and contribute to expanding your skills and development.

Development Consultants have one of the most wide-ranging roles of all City & Guilds Associates, with the possibility of being involved in many different parts of the qualification and assessment development process. Some of the key roles and responsibilities that you may conduct are:

  • Drafting assessments and sample assessment materials – e.g., multiple-choice question papers, knowledge tests, practical assessments, professional discussions, portfolios of evidence
  • Reviewing and amending assessments as part of reviewing panels or as a scrutineer
  • Reviewing the mapping of content against standards or other qualifications

The person specification outlines the expectations of the role and the experience that we are looking for someone to have as a Development Consultant. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate hands-on experience in the work of a Content Creator, typically working to a brief. This includes researching, preparing, and developing messaging designed to maximise audience engagement, while aligning with brand strategy, organisational objectives, and the needs of the customer, client, or business.

Can demonstrate that they have maintained, and can evidence, up-to-date knowledge and expertise within the content creation occupation. Has recent, relevant experience in the occupation or sector at a minimum of occupational level 2 gained within the last three years, or significant prior experience within the field.

As part of your role, you will receive contextualised training for each development that you are involved in, and will be expected to attend online, face-to-face meetings as well as taking on some remote activities. When completing your application, it is essential that you read the person specification fully and map your application to show where you meet the requirements set out. Please note applications that do not demonstrate meeting the person specification may be declined or delayed.

We look forward to receiving your application. All development activities must take place within the UK. We believe that diversity and inclusion strengthen and enrich us, and that it is the responsibility of everyone at City & Guilds Limited to drive this value.
