Would you like to be involved with supporting the development of qualifications in the Business Analyst sector? We are looking for Development Consultants to join our team and be part of a growing network of associates. This role gives you the opportunity to work with City & Guilds alongside your current job, to build additional income with competitive daily rates and contribute to expanding your skills and development.
Development Consultants have one of the most wide-ranging roles of all City & Guilds Associates, with the possibility of being involved in many different parts of the qualification and assessment development process. Some of the key roles and responsibilities that you may conduct are:
- Scoping qualification content – e.g., qualification and unit structures, rules of combinations, assessment design
- Writing unit content
- Drafting assessments and sample assessment materials – e.g., multiple-choice question papers, knowledge tests, practical assessments, professional discussions, portfolios of evidence
- Reviewing and amending assessments as part of reviewing panels or as a scrutineer
- Reviewing the mapping of content against standards or other qualifications
The person specification outlines the expectations of the role and the experience that we are looking for someone to have as a Development Consultant. We are looking for someone who has recent, relevant experience in the Business Analysis profession. The role involves understanding stakeholder needs and identifying how these can be addressed through business change and digital solutions. Business Analysts are change professionals who help organisations successfully deliver both business and digital transformation.
A recognised professional qualification, such as the International Diploma in Business Analysis or the Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) certification is required. Recent industry experience gained within the last two years, or substantial prior experience in Business Analysis, supported by evidence of ongoing professional development is also necessary.
Skills in analysing and documenting business problems and user needs, creating solution requirements that reflect best practice, and presenting them in a clear, logical manner tailored to the audience are essential. They also manage stakeholder relationships, ensuring effective collaboration between business and technical teams. By focusing on outcomes and benefits, they help ensure that the right problems are addressed and the right solutions are developed.
As part of your role, you will receive contextualised training for each development that you are involved in, and will be expected to attend online, face-to-face meetings as well as taking on some remote activities. When completing your application, it is essential that you read the person specification fully and map your application to show where you meet the requirements set out. Please note applications that do not demonstrate meeting the person specification may be declined or delayed. We look forward to receiving your application.
All development activities must take place within the UK. We believe that diversity and inclusion strengthen and enrich us, and that it is the responsibility of everyone at City & Guilds Limited to drive this value. We work hard to be inclusive in our approach to recruitment and associate opportunities, whilst still ensuring we meet our regulatory requirements. We strongly encourage and welcome applications from diverse and underrepresented communities.
