Would you be interested in supporting the delivery of T-Levels for Land-based services? We are looking for a Chief Examiner to join us and a marking team to ensure the standards of this industry are maintained and to play an important part in the onward journey of Land-based services in the UK. The Chief Examiner will need to cover one or more of the following pathways:

  • Floristry
  • Land-based Engineering

This important role gives you the opportunity to work alongside your current job, to build additional income with competitive daily rates, and to continue to develop your own skills and development. The Task Profile outlines the expectations of the Chief Examiner role, and the Person Specification outlines the experience we’re looking for someone to have as a Chief Examiner.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure question papers are prepared ahead of our dated exam series and are ready for candidates at the required standard, error-free and high quality.
  • Support a team of markers during standardisation activities, sampling and ongoing marking support.
  • Set grade boundaries for each examination series and provide guidance on occasional technical queries throughout the year.
  • Support preparation of task-based synoptic assignments.
  • Provide key technical advice and guidance to support assessment development and delivery across the year when required.

Requirements / Experience:

  • Strong industry experience with a passion for supporting learners and a commitment to quality and high standards.
  • Experience in writing and reviewing question papers is welcomed but not required.

  • Awarding/Standard Setting
  • Dated Entry Question Paper – June Exam Series: Ongoing throughout the year outside of key marking and awarding windows
  • June – July
  • July – Mid August
  • Dated Entry Question Paper – November Exam Series: November – December
  • December - January
