We’re recruiting on behalf of a growing environmental services business that specialises in invasive weed control across residential, commercial, and development sites. Due to growth, our client is looking for an experienced and practical Invasive Weed Technician to join their team. You’ll work remotely from home, travelling to sites across London and the Southeast, providing expert treatment, surveys, and removal services for invasive plant species such as Japanese Knotweed.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Applying herbicide treatments on-site
- Physically removing invasive weeds
- Conducting invasive species surveys and inspections
- Installing root barriers
- Preparing reports and collecting digital site data via mobile devices
- Working independently or as part of a small team
What We’re Looking For:
- A practical, hands-on individual with good physical fitness
- Able to work remotely and manage your own schedule
- PA1 & PA6 certification (essential)
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
- Comfortable using smartphones/apps to log work
- Previous experience in environmental fieldwork, groundworks, landscaping or a similar role would be beneficial
Bonus if you’ve got:
- CSCS, PCA Japanese Knotweed Technician status, or H&S/First Aid qualifications but training can be provided.
Working Hours:
- Full-Time (40 hrs/week) or Part-Time (24 hours/week) considered
- Site hours typically 8:30am-3:00pm, with flexibility for survey days
- Overtime available and often encouraged
Salary & Perks:
- £26,000 to £36,000 basic salary, dependent on experience
- Uncapped overtime
- Additional payments dependant on hours/staying away from home
- Company van provided for work use (personal use possible with fuel cost and benefit-in-kind tax)
- Phone provided; laptop/iPad if required
