Site Type: Corporate / College Reception

Pay Rate: £13.85 per hour

Average Hours per Week: 40-60 hours

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday (Weekends Off)

Shift Times: 05:15 15:15, 09:00 21:00, 10:00 22:00

This role requires a proactive, reliable, and customer-focused security professional able to represent the college positively and maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment.

Requirements

* SIA Licence

* Enhanced DBS: Must be current and clean

* Essential Skills:

* Excellent English communication and customer service skills

* Professional and presentable appearance

* Confident in computer use and record keeping

* Good housekeeping and attention to detail

Main Duties and Responsibilities

* Control access and maintain accurate entry/exit records

* Maintain and update all site logbooks and registers

* Notify appropriate staff when visitors arrive

* Track visitors and appointment times

* Handle incoming calls and respond appropriately

* Greet and assist visitors with professionalism and courtesy

* Receive, record, and distribute mail and deliveries

* Arrange taxis or assistance for departing visitors

* Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances

* Monitor and authorize entry and exit of staff and visitors

* Contact police or emergency services when necessary

* Check alarm systems and ensure all security equipment is operational

* Monitor and adjust building systems (e.g., air conditioning, heating) as required
